Unpaid, voluntary role

This role has now closed

Who are we?

We are the largest charity dedicated to kidney research in the UK. Our research strategy to 2030 outlines our four strategic objectives and what we want to achieve through research in the next ten years or sooner. We rely almost wholly on donations from the UK public and we believe that everybody deserves a life free from kidney disease.

Is this you?

This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic, motivated committee who are integral to how we work and provide our research funding through grants and awards. Our Research Grants Committee is made up of experienced people from across the academic sector and help us in our scientific assessment of research applications and proposals.

We are seeking new members to join us now and help us!

If you are a researcher who have expertise and specialise in any of the following, we would like to hear from you:

  • Qualitative methodology
  • Health inequalities
  • Big data and bioinformatics
  • Multiple health conditions
  • Clinical transplantation
  • Health service research
  • Clinical research and trials

Bearing in mind our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity and providing equal opportunities to everyone, we encourage applications from all sections of the community.

How will it work?

Membership of the committee can be for one or two three-year terms, with members rotating off after a maximum of six years’ service.

The time commitment is remote working during the assessment process, with attendance at virtual panel meetings. We may hole at least one panel meeting a year as a face-to-face meeting which would be held a convenient location and venue for attendees. The role is voluntary and all reasonable out of pocket expenses will be promptly reimbursed.
