Catch Kidney Research UK at the Diabetes UK professional conference
We’re looking forward to attending this year’s Diabetes UK professional conference, taking place from Wednesday 22 April to Friday 24 April 2026 at the Exhibition Centre, Liverpool. It’s a chance to liaise with healthcare professionals on the relationship between kidney disease and diabetes – and to share the resources from our stand to help patients and people working in this field.
Charities working together for patient benefit
Attending the conference is another great milestone in our relationship with Diabetes UK, with whom we have collaborated on some important projects over recent years. Together, we are championing the voice of patients, increasing knowledge and awareness with professional and patient audiences and striving to fund more research into diabetic kidney disease.
A key aspect of our collaborative work is around continuous professional development for healthcare professionals. To that end, in partnership with Diabetes UK we recently launched a free, 20-minute mini module on Kidney Health, which provides bite-sized e-learning for healthcare professionals working in primary care. This is the first in a series of mini modules focused on the complications associated with diabetes.
Designed to fit into your working day, this mini-module is designed to help primary care professionals understand the risk of CKD in people with diabetes and the key tests they should receive to monitor their kidney function. Participants come away with the knowledge and confidence to support people to maintain their kidney health.
Supporting professionals to support patients
Our aim is to support you and your patients living with multiple long-term conditions to spot kidney disease sooner, slow the progression of chronic kidney disease and to deliver the best practice in renal care. We have created this resource page with links to the mini module, research papers, and lots of other useful tips and link,
