Dame Patricia shared our commitment to improving the lives of people living with kidney disease. Her long standing involvement with the kidney cause began when she became a patron of Kids Kidney Research.

“We were honoured when Dame Patricia agreed to be our ambassador, as she wanted to continue to support research that transformed the prospects of children living with kidney disease. She showed such generosity towards and interest in our work and was always delightful to speak with at our events and over the phone. 

“She came to the Peterborough Cathedral Advent Service in 2018 where the charity is a partner, delivering a beautiful reading. She was particularly keen to attend because her brother had once held a role at the Cathedral. By then she was quite frail, but she didn’t let that hold her back. She displayed similar determination in accepting our invitation to do a recital at our Christmas carol concert at St Marylebone Church on 9 December this year. We will all reflect on her support for the charity as a fellow actress delivers her reading in her stead.
