Our campaign is shortlisted in prestigious national awards

05 October 2020

A national campaign, which went bigger and bolder in raising awareness of kidney disease, has been shortlisted for prestigious awards.

Kidney Research UK joined forces with three other charities and two professional bodies, to create a huge impact for the 2020 UK's World Kidney Day.

The work has been commended by the Third Sector Awards, which recognise the achievements of charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises. Winners will be announced over a two-day virtual event in October.

An example of the World Kidney Day 2020 campaign.

Joining us to get the message across loud and clear for World Kidney Day in March were Kidney Care UK, PKD Charity and the National Kidney Federation alongside the Renal Association and the British Renal Society.

Working with agency, Made by Sonder, our group objective was to create a modern brand with impact

Cancer and heart attacks are feared but who worries about kidney disease or even really knows what kidneys do? And how many of you have ever heard of World Kidney Day? Or know where your kidneys are?” said a spokesman for Made by Sonder.

This new brand had to raise awareness of kidneys and kidney disease with the general public and those at increased risk, such as diabetics and those with heart and circulatory problems.

The team aim was to build a campaign to attract a general audience, grab attention and be optimistic and warm.

Plans are already in the pipeline for the 2021 World Kidney Day on March 11.

  • Third Sector is holding a virtual award ceremony commencing at 5pm on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 October.
  • World Kidney Day has been shortlisted in the Brand Development category alongside six other organisations.
