Living with Kidney Disease. What you should know. End Stage Renal Failure with Fiona Loud

'Living with Kidney Disease’ Module 2 is a health awareness and education project designed to support anyone who has been told by their doctor that they have some level of kidney damage. This DVD is aimed at patients who have been newly diagnosed with CKD.

Driven by information from patients, this Module takes an honest look at some of the choices that patients need to make and encourages a deeper dialogue between clinicians and patients. The DVD looks at the pros and cons of haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. It discusses the implications, both physical and practical of each and it looks honestly at the option of palliative or end of life care. This second DVD also looks at the different transplantation options - live and cadavaric and it discusses the use of anti-rejection drugs, the need for compliance and the impact of non-compliance. Finally, this DVD takes a look at long term issues such as diet and calcification.
